In class we used There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly. This is a familiar children's rhyme, when put into book form, it is easy for students to predict what comes next. There are a variety of ways you can use this book. We split up each animal she ate and had each group come up with a sound for that animal. Every time it showed up in the text, it was that group's responsibility to make the sound and say the animal.
